This machine was to be my next aquisition until my last visit when I was told it's not for sale. But that's only a setback, not a failure that I'll admit yet. It is a wooden-bed porch post lathe. Total length is 154". The swing is 20" and the distance between centers is 120". The jack shaft is laying in the sand under the lathe and both bearing hangers are present for the jackshaft. A woodchuck had been busy digging under the lathe and has partly burried the legs of the lathe and the pulleys on the jackshaft.

So many old lathes don't carry the makers name. This proudly announces it was made by Cant Bros. & Co. Galt, Ontario.
