I bought this jointer about 10 years ago from a farmer in IL not far from St. Louis. I did not restore it, just cleaned it up, changed the belt and knives to make it functional. It is missing the pork chop and I've been thinking about making one at some point, but without it I try to be extra cautious. It's been a great user, however, recently I ended up fabricating and replacing Zamak fence brackets that crumbled with ones made of aluminum. The PO had devised a very effective hopper for catching shavings that I still use. I just need to empty it when it fills up. The jointer produces a very smooth surface and even though the motor is only rated at 1/2 HP it never bogs down and is easy to use.
