Picked this up off a guy who saw I was looking for vintage tools on my website. He had picked them up off the orginal owner in part trade for house renos. It had been painted a nice metalflake chinese green thus I had to strip the paint off. At the time of purchase I did not think it was that old as I had just gotten interested in vintage tools. Thanks to this site I now have a better clue about how old stuff is. After drilling about three holes with this one I popped my new plastic Ridged floor model drill press on craigs!! This is now my favorite vintage find and I use it almost daily. The base I picked up off some friends. Normally I don't allow wood in my welding area but this was cheap and easy. Plus it has storage drawer to store my drill bits, bandaids and metal cuttings! Of course it is on wheels also and I had to lop on some grey to match the era. The motor is not original so am casually on the hunt for that. Also looking for an original switch. The light I added afterwards. Like I said earlier I am a fan of vintage finishes so will likely not paint this right off.

There has never been a man who went into a hardware wanting a drill bit.... what he really wanted was a hole.
