This was a Craigslist find in Traverse City, Michigan. The fellow had intended to restore it, but then decided is was a bit much for him. The $75 price was right, so we drove 250 miles to get it.
It was originally a direct drive machine, but the motor was missing. Conversion to belt drive had been started with a steel plate welded to the base. I removed that and made a new top and motor shelf out of 100 year old pine. New taper roller bearings and Freud C440 knives were installed in it by myself.
The skew head leaves a very smooth surface on stock run over it.
