Comments:
Purchased in Melbourne Australia. The model 13-2 is 860mm (34") wide, height to top of lever is approx 900mm(3 feet) and weighs 65kg (145 lbs). The knives are 3/" thick. Unusually for a US manufactured tool, all bolt threads are Whitworth (BSW).
Wording cast into top arch:
ID-2
PERKINS & CO GRAND RAPIDS. MICH. U.S.A.

A third line of text was cast into the arch (Patent date), but half of this was machined away when the upper guide was machined: I believe this to be original.

"ID 3" and "ID 4" is cast into the left and right fences respectively.
"PERKINS & CO. G.R. MICH." is cast into the lever.

I believe this to have been manufactured post 1895 as it incorporates the knife carrier improvement where the knife carrier ends project beyond the knife edges, and also the roller kinfe actuation mechanism where a roller on the front side of the lever engages 2 ribs on the back of the knife carrier as described in Willis J Perkins' Apr 23 1895 Patent No 537,850 Machine for trimming wood.

Originally sold by Thomas McPherson & Son, located in Collins St Melbourne. Brass plate on knife carrier reads:
Thomas McPherson
& Son
Collins St. Melbourne

Comments: Lever has a "tooth" cast into the back which engages one of 5 slots located in the top edge of the arched lever on the rear of the knife carrier. This allows differend lever positions/angles.
