8/11/11 Got this from the family of the recently passed PO. He was original owner and used it building a 28’ sailboat(daughter told me she and her brother were “forced labor” on the project) in the late 50s, then in pretty much intermittent use by her dad and later by her brother. It had been listed (CL) for 5 days with a shaper and a planer, I called the first day and was told other people were on there way to look, really didn't "need" another ras so I let it pass, thinking everything would be gone, was originally $25 but it was still there and when I called the daughter told me now it was a freebie as the PO’s house (Channel Islands Harbor Marina, Ventura, CA, right on the water) was sold and they needed it out of the garage in a few days. She said they just wanted a good home for it rather than send it to Good Will thrift store, I said that would be me. Drove the 40 miles to get it, also was given an old school oxy-acetylene setup, lucky me, no other OWWMers responded earlier.
