Comments:
I picked up an old belt drive grinder a while back and decided to get around and restore it.

From researching the site, it looks to be identical to a couple of grinders I’ve come across that were branded as Dunlap and sold thru Sears in the late 30’s-early 40’s.

The Dunlaps I've seen were painted blue and had a Dunlap decal on them. When I cleaned this one up it seems it had been painted gray and black and there was no evidence of a decal. It might have been repainted at some point or might have been painted and branded differently and sold thru some other retailer. I’ve spent a little time trying to find out who actually manufactured these but no luck so far.

Comments: As received. In spite of the way it looks the babbit bearings are in good shape and it just needed a good cleanup and a bit of adjustment on the shims.

Comments: The grinder could be run from either a V Belt or Flat belt. If run from a line shaft, the screw from either pulley could be removed turning that pulley into an idler (loose) pulley.
