This double pedestal grinder is powered by a 1 HP, 3-phase motor and to make it run, I had to build a control panel to house a frequency drive (VFD) so I can run from my 1-phase shop power. The VFD is nice because it allows you to easily control the speed and add controls like e-stop, etc. While this old beauty originally came with grinding stones, I've switched it over to 10" wire wheels since I already have a Baldor 10" double pedestal grinder with stones. Those black things just peeking out from below the pedestal are hockey pucks ... which I have under a lot of my smaller equipment. This grinder has heavy cast iron wheel guards with 3" ports for hooking up to my dust collector which I am in the process of doing shortly.
