I have been keeping my eye out for a nice 10 in RAS for a wile now. This one came up on CL yesterday so i made the call. Like on most CL pics it was not very good but good enough to go to the Delta Photo index to see what it was.I decided that it was a 10in model 30C. I then made the call and left message. Later got the call from the guy that was selling it for a older gentleman and he told me that it was in great shape and i would be happy when i seen it. We have all heard that before.
The ad read that he wanted $200. or best offer and i asked what he thought the owner would take and he told me he was pretty sure he would take $150.I told him to set up a time for me to see it. That was today.
It was in Sacramento, CA 1 1/2 hrs away and when i got there i was very happy with how nice the saw was and how original it was. It is a 1959 saw. It has the original switch, original table, it even had the original plywood shelf with the original paint on it. PO thought the whole time he had it that the shelf was metal,i guess he did not look that close. It has a 1 1/2 hp single phase motor, and he put new casters on the legs so he could move it around a little easier. PO bought the saw from a estate sell about 10 years ago and at that time he said he took it in to have the motor serviced, he thinks for what they charged him at the time that they put new bearings in the motor.
I really have no idea how rare these are but there are only 6 30c RASs in the photo index so i thought it was pretty cool.
