I Attended a storage locker auction for the first time and for $170.00 I acquired 2 Commercial Battery Chargers, a top of the line Hamilton Parts Cleaner System, an Olympic 6’ Steel Shop Table, a 4’ by 5’ Steel Fab Table, 2 Wilton Bench Vises, and an Atlas Model 74 Drill Press. The drill press was 100% original right down to the drive belt and in overall very good condition. It was missing a few key pieces and appeared to have been stored for a very long time. A few weeks of searching produced the missing Quill Spring and Quill Lock Sleeves. I dismantled the drill press and the only items that needed to be replaced were the sealed bearing in each end of the electric motor housing. Everything else in or on the drill press was in very good condition so, I completely stripped and repainted the drill press in a manner of about 2 weeks and all that’s left is to bolt the electric motor back into place. Should last for another 50 or so years ! Vintage Machinery was very useful and helpful in identifying my drill press and the parts needed to put it back into service. Thank You !
