I purchased the 20 inch band saw from an auction at Menard Correctional Facility, Chester Ill. The machine had not been used in a number of years but all of the mechanical castings where solid (read not cracked) and most of the knobs where intact. However, it was missing the motor and switch. I will be posting pictures during the rebuild.
I placed a 3hp 3ph motor into the bandsaw, it is a little overkill but I had the motor laying around.
I had to make a home made guide bracket, it works well and the saw tracks nice and strait. I painted it black because I could not bear a nother grey machine.
