This is a 1/4 hp Century Electric Co (St Louis) repulsion start (type RS) induction motor in unrestored condition. It is a single phase dual voltage (110/220) motor that spins at 1750 rpm.

It came to me as the motor on a shop built 12" disc sander, which surprised me a bit because I would have thought that 1/4 hp was undersized for that task. But this motor holds its own.
