This reportedly came from an old cabinetmaker's estate. It's a Darra-James by way of Montgomery Wards. I like a lot about this saw, except for the arbor elevating mechanism, which no one seems to like much. Need to rig a blade guard for it someday soon. It came with a monstrously heavy GE motor (I think, judging from others I have seen. The badge was missing) that never really seemed to spin the arbor with much vigor, even after the motor shop was done with it. Swapped it out for a 3 horse Marathon motor. I had hoped a slightly lighter motor would help with the arbor elevation. It did, a bit.
