This is a 1939 Delta 6 in jointer model # 666 with the early cast iron base #667 without the hole in the front cover. By 1940 the bases Had a hole in the front cover so you would be able to use a motor with a double ended shaft. By 1940 with the hole in the cover they also used the jointer base for the 6x48 belt sanders. I bought this jointer the way you see it. PO did a restore about 10 years ago and thought the jointer was from the 60s. To the best i can tell it is all original. It has the 1/2 hp RI motor with the original switch. This is my 2nd one with the early base and i just think they are very cool.
