I bought this machine along with 2 others from Babock Lumber in St. Mary's Pa. This is a machine you don't see all that often. The Model B6 sander was offered as either a wet or dry machine. Wet for metalworking, dry for woodworking. This is obviously the dry version. Complete with all original guards. There are small pieces of steel that act as a platen just above the table to give the belt some rigidity. The original one is gone, but some home made ones were included. The driving drum is all cast iron, belt drive with 2 speeds. A simple lift of the 3/4 hp motor allows for fast belt changes. This machine is similar in operation and function to a Wysong and Miles 273 bicycle sander, but has a very small footrpint. Very cool little sander that will be great next to my other 2 Porter Cable Sanders. The machine was advertised as 440v only, and I took a gamble that the motor would be dual voltage. Got lucky, as it was dual voltage and included a whole box of brand new belts not advertised in the auction. Runs very quiet, just the noise of the belt whirring through the air can be heard when running.
