Comments:
This bandsaw was offered for sale locally at a closing machine shop.
According to the catalogs, This model saw was only made for one year with the enclosed cast iron base. the previous year 1937, it was offered with an open leg cast iron base. In 1939, they changed to a under mount motor design instead of the horizontal mount as shown on this saw. However this saw is equipped with the belt guard and low speed gear box that first showed up in the '39 Catalogs

a 16" WM version was not shown in the '38 catalog

The wheel covers exhibit the 'cross' style design, which was last seen in the '38 catalog on the 16" machines, but was still being used on the smaller 12" models

my best guess is that this is a late '38 model or a really early '39 model

it is equipped with an original 3 phase 1/2hp motor, but someone added the Delta 'retirement' light on the upper arm as seen in the pictures.
