I was informed by another OWWM/Vintage Machinery member that this DP was listed for sale locally. Since I currently have one that is nearly identical, and like it very much, I managed to come up with the funds to buy this one as well. It was owned by the seller's grandfather, who was a tool and die maker at Tobin Machining in Fond Du Lac, WI and passed away in 1976. This DP has a higher serial number than my first one, making it slightly newer, which possibly explains the subtle differences that I've noticed in its design. The paint appears to be OEM and looks like a "cream" color under all the old oil film. The leather belt has been spliced by gluing as opposed to a metal, "alligator" splice. I will update this posting after I've had some time to work on the restoration and will be able to provide more information on the subtle differences that I mentioned. I expect the restoration to take as many hours as my other one, so I'm looking at another 150+ hours.
