Comments:
An addition to the known stable of Palmer D. Weeks/Barton machines. I spied this on the Bend, Oregon Craigslist in January, 2011 but it lacked all identifying marks. The fence suggested Barton, so I pursued it. Bronze knobs, aluminum cast base and much of the fence, too. Three-knife head; overall length of jointer is just over 60"; no depth scale or means of locking the infeed table height. Weight is just shy of 200 lbs. Research in the archives of the Oregonian newspaper reveal that on October 8, 1947 Palmer D. Weeks ran the first classified ad which included this machine: 4", 6", 8" Barton jointers, cast iron or aluminum. 13" Barton surface planer $275. Nine months later the ads stopped.
Update March, 2012: having completed a stand for it the jointer is now my primary machine. New bearings, sharpened knives, cleaned tables, and a RI motor completed the refurbishment for now.

Update May, 2013: having established a category for Bend Iron Works machines this was transferred from Barton/Palmer D. Weeks.
