This band saw has a bit of a strange story to it. I had just purchased the Delta 890 band saw and after I brought it home I realized that I was going to need some spare parts. There happened to be an ad for an older Delta 14" saw for $75 about 90 minutes north of me. I called up and found out that it was a mid 70's saw that had been purchased in pieces, partly restored and repainted, and then the owner just bought a new saw from Home Depot and lost interest in completing this one. It had new bearings, new tires, had been repainted, and had about 95% of the right nuts and bolts. All that remained were a base, motor, belt, and blade. I did not realize how close to complete it was, nor did I realize it was actually a very nice 1949 vintage saw. Once I saw it I no longer felt very good about using it as a donor machine or parting it out, but I did feel pretty good about getting such a good saw for only $75 bucks. So I brought it home. I would like to complete it and then sell it whole, since I don't need three Delta 14" saws and I will probably keep the 890 and sell the other two if I can get it running properly. Unfortnately, I did not take any pictures of it before I started taking it apart, but I have one the seller sent me. I especially liked getting the fence and rails.
