Found this on CL for $300. Called the seller right away and said I would purchase it sight unseen. The seller said he would hold it. By the time I got there, he had four other calls from people wanting to purchase the jointer. Needless to say, there was no negotiating to be done. No worries, sold my Grizzly 6" Jointer for $275 so I'm net out only $25.

It is in decent condition, blades need to be sharpened. Luckily, I had already purchased 8" Rockwell blades intending to find a 37-315 but found this Crescent 8" Light Jointer first. It isn't the original Peerless motor but a Dayton. I may try to find a Peerless in the future. I can't find the serial number anywhere stamped on the machine. It probably was on the missing machine badge; you can see the two screws above the Crescent Machine Co. raised lettering holding little bits of thin metal.

The PO said the jointer was quite loud and it was. However, once getting the jointer home, I found that the infeed table was loose. I reset the gibs and white lithium greased the ways and it is all better... (and much quieter). By the way, I think this is the coolest looking cast iron base around for a 8" jointer. I'll probably get around to restoring this after restoring the Crescent 32" Bandsaw.
