I bought this wood lathe at a garage sale about 35 years ago. The gentleman selling it was retiring and planning to move. He said the lathe was a Pearl Harbor during the attack. Afterwards, the old machines were removed when new machine were broght in for the war. He got this wood lathe when it was being thrown out and then sold it to me years later.I have used it off and on and have just started to use it again. I added the small shelf and the metal to deflect the wood chips from the shelf. I have not restored or painted it, perfering to leave it as is. I've made some walking sticks, tools handles and other small items. I went to your website to find out about the machine and noticed there was nothing on this model.
