A Craigslist item purchased in 2008 but I didn’t get around to taking it apart until late in 2010. The seller used it for many years in a custom stair fabricating shop until he upgraded to a new 8” jointer. The machine came with an old ¾ horse Craftsman motor. This jointer was in working condition with a clean table, but every other surface was showing 60 years of rust, grime and crud topped off by plenty of paint overspray. The oak base was gouged and split. I kept the original oak, patched the holes, glued it back together, and gave it few coats of lacquer. The Rube Goldberg articulated blade guard works but is going to take some getting used to. I like the triple belt “Texrope” drive and the elegant cast iron legs. Paint is Rustoleum Dark Hunter Green.
