This was purchased as one of four drill presses on a production 4 gang setup. Fellow OWWM'er Roy Wall has another of the four and both of ours were restored together at the same time. We were only able to purchase the heads (with raising mechanisms) and columns (shorter than standard floor columns). I acquired (through Roy's help) a base/table/column from a Clausing drill press that are nearly identical to the original Powermatic ones.
Restoration included electrolysis of all parts and then priming/painting to match the original factory Powermatic "Pea" green.
Later, custom mobile bases were welded up out of angle iron.
The chuck is a Jacobs 18N Super Chuck acquired off of eBay. It was cleaned/wire wheeled/polished and mounted with a new arbor purchased from Enco.
The motor is 3 Phase and is powered using the standard TECO FM50 VFD that most fellow OWWM'ers have set up.
