Comments:
I found this in the back of a warehouse of a local machine reseller. The place turns over many old machines and a few, like this one, seemed destined to just rot away in favor of larger, high dollar equipment. Anyway, I thought it looked like a good project and a way to upgrade my own modern Delta drill press (bought at Lowe's 1 yr ago). It was badged with a US Navy bureau of ships tag. That metal tag was only paint, no raised letters or anything, so it did not survive the clean up very well. I don't have any concrete information on the date other than between 1939 and 1947, although I have received some feedback that suggest between 1940 and 1942. Rest assured I paid a lot more than most would have for this tool, but I thoroughly enjoyed renovating it (not restored to original, but renovated to good working condition). Interestingly, it came with a very heavy t-slot plate on the production table that protected the table. I kept the t-slot and will bolt it on when I need to clamp something tight.

Currently wired 220V 3-phase running off an Hitachi vfd.

Comments: Backside of the press showing off the motor badge...this was the only badge that had not been painted over many times over the drill press life.
