Purchased this bandsaw via Craigslist back in Sept 2010. The guy who sold it to me said it had been sitting in his garage for quite a few years and that it used to belong to his wife's ex-husband, who had used it at his work place cutting metal. He wanted to sell it to get a smaller benchtop bandsaw since he needed the space. He had never really used the saw himself. The saw was in decent condition, with no major parts missing. It came with a 3/4 HP Craftsman motor and multiple gear changing mechanism (one of which was a caster wheel for shortening the drive belt!). The original door hinges looked to be attached at the top and botton corners of the door, not the current ones that are on the side. That might have been changed to allow the door to open wider. The previous owner was kind enough to delivery the saw to my house for free, which I was quite thankful for because this saw is pretty solid and heavy. My dad and I spent the next 2 months slowly taking it apart, cleaning and re-painting it. We decided to just re-use one of the step pulley instead of the original 3 since I'll only be cutting wood. I have installed a new Woodslicer 1/2 blade and had used it a few times. The tires are pretty beat up and need replacing. Even with the vibration due to the bad tires, I'm still pretty happy with it so far. It was a great project for my dad and I to work on and a big step up from my Rockwell 10" bandsaw.
