Comments:
Bought on Craigslist as surplus from a local woodworking shop. I don't know any history before that. Has the upper guide replaced with a small Carter. The lower guide is a Black Diamond style but with a tag from Hanchett.

It is nearly identical to a slightly older Heavy 20 I own but with some minor differences in the main casting. I didn't really need another band saw but the Heavy 20 I own has the upper and lower guard door smashed beyond repair. I saw the ad for this machine and hopped on it quickly so I would at least have a pattern to complete the machine I already owned. This turned out to be a really unique machine. It is equipped with a single phase RI Peerless motor. I have no doubt it left Leetonia this way. I don't think I have ever seen a vintage band saw equipped with an 850rpm single phase direct drive motor. I would well imagine this was an expensive option when the saw was produced.
