Comments:
The original casting for the cutterhead guard bracket was replaced. This seems to be a common point of failure from what I have seen in other postings for Walker-Turner jointers of the era. In addition, there was no crank handle for adjustment of the rear table as is seen in catalog pictures and other posted pictures. There is a large acorn nut. The table adjusted just fine with the nut. Since you rarely adjust the rear table, the machine was still usable.
Update: Although the outfeed table could be adjusted with the nut, the handle was surely missing. I found a replacement that was a perfect match, just the wrong bore. A machinist friend bored out the hole and broached a new keyway.
The cutterhead accepts standard knives. The ones installed in the unit when I got it are 6" x 3/4" x 1/8". Another owner of a similar model, indicates that 6 1/8" x 3/4" x 1/8" knives work as well. The latter seem to be a much more standard size that is readily available.
The knife retention screws were in sad shape. Luckily Delta still supplies a replacement for its jointers that used a similar knife bar set up. They are a perfect match.
The manual and parts list can be found here.
