I bought this machine on Craigslist. The previous owner "received it as a debt payment" and had owned it for only a week. He knew, nor cared little about it.
My restoration included:
- A switch rebuild - http://wiki.owwm.com/Fixing%20a%20Dead%20Switch.ashx
- All castings sand blasted.
- Sprayed three coats Rustolium, canvas white. (spay gun – shinier)
- New motor bearings.
- Plugged seven holes in table with pipe plugs and JB Weld.
- Blanchard ground the table.
- Hand scraped the base (for effect, not flatness).
- Hand polished the column, shoe shine style. (180, 220, 360, 400, 600 all with WD40)
- Re-plated and polished all cadmium. ($$$$ ouch!)
- Polished all non-plated steel.
- And a new Jacobs chuck.

Thanks for looking.
