Comments:
My Father bought this saw in the mid 1940's. It served him well for many years. I have the original manual, it is dated November 1945. Although it is billed as a 7" saw, I have
always used 8" blades on it. I was surprised after all these years that I still
have the original blade guard. I do not recall it ever actually being used when
it was in operation in my Fathers shop.
The saw is now being used as a light duty disc sander. I found an 8" sanding disc (actually 3 of them) with a 1/2" arbor hole at the local used tool store ($2). As a tilting table unit, it seems to be better suited to being a sander than a saw. Since the disc is centered in the table, more or less, I can use different grit sanding discs on either side. Probably not the best use for an old saw, but since it was my fathers, and he bought it new, I was not willing to part with it. As a saw, it would just sit on the floor in the corner of the shop.
