This was a CL find. The ad was for a rusty, old, greasy stand-up drill press for $40. It was dark when I finally found his house and the lighting in his garage was less than stellar, but I gave him the $40 bucks and dragged it to my truck.

Once home I had a bit of buyer’s remorse. It looked a little overwhelming as I had never torn a machine down and restored one. It was missing the return spring and the quill lock. The motor cap was oblong shaped, it appears to have fallen over and landed on the cap and the pulley cover as the mounting bracket was all that was left of the fractured part.

I asked a few question on the, org site to get started and away I went. Put up a WTB and hunted the bay for the missing parts and slowly obtained what I needed.
I couldn’t be happier with how things turned out. I learned a lot and can’t wait to get started on the next item in the que. (I had never heard of a que before I found this and the .org site. Within a matter of weeks I had items waiting in que. This place is like a rapidly spreading virus.)
