Since 1947, this machine has been in a woodworking shop near Montreal. The jointer was made by Joseph Côté, Inc. of St-Ephrem-de-Beauce, which is a small town about 30km away from the jointer's current home. Note that the front of the machine is labeled, "CO-T", which is a common abbreviation for Côté. Used Côté machines in Quebec are often described as made by "CO-T".

It is very difficult to find information on Côté or other Quebec woodworking machinery makers. If you can provide information on any such companies, please let me know!
