Comments:
My grandfather bought that jointer used in 1947 from Jos Côté cie in St-Ephrem de beauce that cie built there own tools but take old one in exchange and upgrade them to be sold again to other customer .
The jointer have bearing instead of babbet and the square cylinder was replaced by a round one with 3 knifes,it run on a 5 hp,550 volts and still in use when I go to the family shop
Not sure but I think it was originaly a direct drive.
