This was one of the most labor-intensive and comprehensive restorations I've ever done. The drill press came out of Santa Cruz, where it had been sitting outside in the salt air and fog about three blocks from the beach for years. It was coated head-to-toe in layers of rust and/or salt-air gunk. It was stripped completely to every last nut, washer, bolt and bearing for clean-up and resurrection. I have hundreds of photos of the restoration process if anyone wants close-ups of anything in particular at any step along the way. The motor is a classic 1/2hp WT Driver Line motor that also was a very sad case, but cleaned up to showroom quality.
