This is a single-drum open-bed sander. The images were in some sales literature from the H.B. Smith Company. This model may have been a special order, as there is no further information about a model name or number in the records of machines sold.

The mechanism matches that found on the company's standard line of sanders.The drum is about 10" in diameter and weighs about 1700 pounds. It oscillates via a worm gear in the bullet-shaped housing on the left. There is height adjustment via the wheel, and at about 45 o'clock is a control to lock out the oscillation. The motor is attached directly to the drum on the right, and is probably 7.5 or 10 hp
