I was pretty excited to acquire this! I already owned a Davis & Wells table saw and when this showed up on Craigslist, I just had to have it!

I bought it from a retiring electrician for $175. He got it from a cabinet shop, wired it for 220, and put a brand new Dayton motor on it. He said his wife used it a few times, but hadn't in over 20 years. He believes that the original paint is grey (you can see it where the original motor and switch were), but a previous owner must have painted it blue. He also had an extra set of brand new blades for it, so that was a nice bonus.

It works great so I have no intention of doing anything to it at this time, other than clean off the surface rust. I just plan to use it. But eventually, I'd like to completely repaint it all the same color, and maybe even have it surface ground and flaked like the D&W 14" Band Saw that Thom Houser submitted pictures of. We'll see. I'm also wondering if I'd want to change the switch. The one on it works fine, but I think I'd prefer to have a switch designed for machine use, not home use like this one appears to be. Does anyone have any advice on this? And if so, what kind of switch should I get?

I'm also hoping to find out when it was made. I'll have to poke around it some more and see if I can find the serial number.
