Comments:
I purchased this scrollsaw from a cabinet shop that was downsizing tools. The PO had bought the saw with the shop in the 1980's, and had never used it! This is the largest scrollsaw I have seen, and is in remarkable shape. The base is obviously shopmade, but would hold up nearly anything. The machine is in operating condition - initials on the back of the saw indicate that someone must have paited it in 1979, and tried to dress it up with a little contrasting red paint. Came with a clean Hoover ballbearing motor with little apparent use - needs a new capacitor, though.
Saw is featured in 1952 General Line catalog on MS, and owners manual for this model dated 1956 - so we'll say it was made in the 50's.
Gonna just dust this one off and start using it.
