I bought this mortiser through the interent in Bear Deleware. Dave Potts picked it up for me in Oct '09, and brought it to the Adirondack region on a trip July 30 '10, where I met him and picked it up. It is different to my first Riehle Bros mortiser in that the spring is a heavy coiled leaf, and the chisel has a lever to advance or retract. I would think the transverse leaf on the other one was later, but the lever adjustment on the chisel, which would seem like an improvement, is only on this one. So I don't know which one is earlier.
