I saw this drill press advertised in the C***Lists, selling for $50. When I got there to check it out, I was somewhat horrified at the way it was used and "adapted". So I went through a very thorough restoration to get it to the way it is now. Sent the motor pulley to Rich Andrews in Texas to have it bored and refitted with a new sleeve. Had to make a new locking handle to fit a 5/8" bolt in the table clamp. The 5/8" was brazed into the clamp before aI bought it. Had to file down quite a few hammer-made bumps on the column. Took the 633C Jacob chuck apart to get it clean very thoroughly and regreased with Valvoline wheel bearing grease. The motor needs a capacitor cover, the logo plate and the knurled locking knob for the belt cover. Hopefully I will get them soon. Someone drilled a hole at the splitted end of the quill control shaft and made a steel plug to fix that. Also had to separate the splitted end apart to keep the bushing of the micro depth adjustment tight. AHad to grind down a miscasted spot on the head so that the motor plate would get closer to the minimum distance for changing belt settings plus getting a new right size belt. There were a few more things to take of, but now this drill press is ready for doing what it was designed to do. One thing that puzzled me is the model number of this particular dp. It ahs the bearings package of the VS model, but this dp was set up as an utility press. One part I couldn't find in both manuals. It is the DP512 keyed spindle pulley.

The DP512 pulley, bearing package spindle and the chuck assembly. That part makes it difficult to determine the model number of this dp.
