Free barn storage permitted this mortising machine to collect dust for decades. The red pin striping and some of the black decorative painting on the front legs were visible when I purchased it. Careful finish restoration cleaning/preservation revealed the original grey paint under the blackish residue covering most of the machine. Fortunately, the gold paint on the protected back standard side became visible with soap and water.

This machine has it's original supplementary wood table and came with Barnes chisels. The majority of the hand knobs were missing. The crud in the mating female threads indicates to me that the hand knobs were misplaced prior to storage. Modern plastic knobs(3) are pictured until suitable replacements can be found.

The Thirteen Casting Part Numbers are:

T202 Left & Right front lion's paw feet, T204? (unclear) Mortise Table, T205 Mortise table back plate (3"x5"), T206 Clamp-gib for vertical table adjustment, T207 Clamp adjustment lever (8 1/2" long), T208 (unclear) vertical sliding member that connects chisel holder spindle to the foot pedal rod, T209 Rear foot pivot part that connects to foot bar, T210 Foot pedal, T211 (worn) Sliding chisel head for out-and-in adjustment of chisel spindle T212 Chisel head adjustment lever (6 1/2" long), T213 Swivel ball lever to allow 360 degree movement of chisel, T214 Swivel ball washer, T215 yoke-pivoting spiral spring connection. The single remaining hand knob with 3/8-16 threads has M424 casted on its face. The only two castings without visible part numbers were the rear lion's paw foot and the main vertical casting or standard.
