This lathe was advertised on Kijiji locally and I was the first guy to get there and make an offer. The seller said it had been around "forever", and since he was young, I suspect it belonged to his father. It seems to be the only woodworking machine by P&W to show up so far.

The bed is 42" long, which leaves about 24" between centers. The original pulley for a flat belt has been replaced with a V-belt pulley.

The Vee-shaped slides on the bed are accomodated by a grooved base plate under the tool rest.

This drive center is probably not original. It looks homade to me, and would tend to split the wood it was driven into.

No doubt about who made it.
