Bought this sander the other day from a real nice gent in his late 60's. He said it belonged to his father who just moved down to stay with him and he was selling some of his tools who was a avid wood worker.
As we were talking his father steps out into the garage and starts telling me all about what he loved to do but age got the better of him as will all of us at one time or another. He was a really nice guy and knew his wood.
Somewhere in the conversation he did say he bought ths machine new in Riverside Ca. but could not remember when.
This sander is in really nice and complete shape with a 50's bolt togeather stand less cast iron down shoot and collection system which i hope to find
From what i have found on this site this 1426 Delta 12" Disc Sander was built sometime in late 1954 by Delta at there Tupelo Mississippi plant.
