Sears Craftsman 6" x ¾" x ½" belt driven bench grinder.
Built by Central Specialty Division of King-Seeley.
The grinder is complete, but the wheels do not appear to be original.
Two-step pulley: 1¾" & 2½".
Arbors: ½"-20 threads. Machined solid steel flanges.
Bearings: porous bronze with spring oil cap covered cups.
Body, guards, tool rests are all cast iron.
>>HISTORY<<
05/28/2010: Traded a scroll saw for this grinder; from a fellow OWWMer. No previous history available.
05/30/2010:
Overall, the grinder is in very good condition. No further refinishing will be performed.
Grinding wheels missing blotters at flanges. Fabricated a set of blotters with a gasket fly cutter in the drill press.
Test run at 3800 with two 6" grinding wheels. This is one of the smoothest Oilite bronze bearing grinders I've ever used.
