I picked up this band saw for $61.00, disassembled, stripped and de-rusted everything, installed new tires, bearings, reconditioned the brass blade guides, repainted with color-matched Sherwin Williams DTM, reassembled and bought new blades. The plywood table extension in the throat has the OEM part number on it, so I just cleaned and reinstalled it. I went through pretty much the same restoration process with the Craftsman motor.

Direct drive ZeroMax continuously variable drive delivers ratios from 0:1 to 1:1 for both, metal and wood cutting. It may not be pretty, but it works very well.

Rear view of new setup. Only metal cutting, vari-tooth blades are used so the saw is ready for cutting any material necessary.
