My father-in-law had this machine in his auto repair business, which he has retired from and closed. With someone else taking over the business, he wanted the counter space so asked that we remove this "old" Drill Press. He offered it to me, to which I quickly answered "ok". It was covered in almost an 1/8 inch of bondo dust, general shop dirt and grease, and unused for quite some time.
It now has a 1/2 horse Delco motor, we're looking for the cover over the pulleys. He says he has it somewhere, I hope.
After a thorough cleaning, removing surface rust, and a lube, it's beginning to take shape. Everything is complete, handles, clamps, hardware. Took it apart to clean and remount it, and when completely reassembled we'll see how it works.
Update: I've cleaned it, as carefully as I could, found out the belt is bad, has a big lump in it. But it runs great, other than the vibration from the belt, so it sits until I get another belt.
Update: I have received the original documentation that came with the drill press. I have scanned it and have it as files if anyone would like copies.
