Nice jointer sold on ebay for $76 on 12/28/03. I got an email in which the person was pretty sure this jointer was from the 30s. The seller added the following:
J.D. Wallace 8" Jointer from I believe the 1940s. It is a direct drive 1/2hp motor that runs fine and it is missing the blade guard. It needs to be tuned up and I suggest replacing the knives I believe they are too short to resharpen. The base is all cast iron and I think it weighs about 300 to 400lbs.
