Comments:
I bought this lathe from a gentleman just outside of Dayton, OH. He told me that he had gotten the machine from his father, who had received the lathe--used--as a gift from his neighbor. Beyond that I believe the lathe to be a 1939 Craftsman 9-inch swing x 30" between centers. The headstock has a hinge-up guard over the 4-step V-pulley, but my tailstock appears to be from an earlier 1935/1936 Craftsman 9" lathe. The tailstock can be set over for taper turning; although, I do not have any of the metal turning accessories at the moment. The spindle runs in "Oilite" type bronze bearings, and has 4 speeds from apx. 700-4000rpm with my 1725rpm motor. If you have additional information or comments I would be happy to hear them.

Cleaned-up lathe and finished bench. Top is a bit cluttered with wood and partical board. Motor yet yet to be hooked up.
