I purchased this sander in Clawson, MI from a fellow who closed down his business and had moved it into his garage where he used it sparingly. It didn’t come cheap but I believe I paid a fair price for a machine of this quality. The owner gave me a copy of a receipt from a local motor shop where he had the motor rebuilt to include rewinding the stator, new bearings, capacitor, etc, etc, Receipt was dated 14 months prior to my purchase and was for $450. The motor was manufactured by Doerr Electric and is a monster. The sander had very minor surface rust on the bare metal parts from being in an unheated garage for a spell. I disassembled the sander, removed the surface rust, cleaned and repainted it Rustoleum Smoke Gray. Motor and controls remained the color it received from the motor shop. Table was sent out for Blanchard grinding along with the miter gauge bar. The blower motor was bad so I purchased a new replacement of the same brand and size as the original. I drilled a series of holes in the lampshade to help dissipate heat. Unfortunately I don’t have any before photos to post.
