Found this on Clist. Seller said it belonged to his dad. The ad said "Grinder- reduced for quick sale, Delta 1/2 hp, just want it gone..." When I asked how old - "Old!" Got my attention - does it run - "Runs real good." I'm on my way! A round trip of one hour and $25, here it is. Very complete with functioning illuminated hoods, wheels, tool rests and one cup.
As you can see at some point the PO repainted the machine but was careful in masking the main badge and serial number tag. During the teardown process I found that some electrical work had been done - the original toggle switch was replaced and one of the four light sockets had been changed, it now takes a screw in bulb instead of the double bayonet.
The Delta badge appears to be original. Underneath, the motor housing is stamped DD 23105A. Missing the toggle switch on/off badge. Hopefully, someone has a good picture of one and is willing to share.
The grinder is now total disassembled, cast iron parts primed and painted, aluminum hoods wire-wheeled (along with all other various nuts, bolts, etc) and awaiting new bearings from Accurate. As soon as complete I will post after pictures.
