Luckily, in 2006 my older sister and brother in law moved into a different home where the previous owner had abandoned this lathe. They asked if I wanted it...so naturally I was happy to haul it home. That's when the fun began with rebuilding and refurbishing it. The original Powr-Kraft lathe tools (eight of them) had been painted an ugly offwhite which I removed and reconditioned...and made a tool holder which is attached to the Powr-Kraft Lathe. Steel in these old lathe tools is much superior to any I've seen on the market recently. Then Installed a new headstock bearing, cleaned all surfaces which had seriously deteriorated, primed and repainted it to what I think is the original Powr-Kraft color. Since then I've made numerous lathe turnings.
