Comments:
I had been really wanting a shaper like this for awhile. I saw one in Dallas on Craigslist but passed and at the same time, Dan Coleman (Crouseu) said he knew of one in St.Louis. I passed again due to lack of cash. Then, when I was at Dan Wyatt's fall gathering of 2009 several months later, Dan brought this along for swap. My jaw dropped and I claimed first dibbs. I paid $100 or $120 or some where close. Not important since it was just what I was looking for. I think he just snatched it for the sole purpose of passing it on to another owwm member.

This has a Heston and Anderson 1/2 h.p. 3400rpm R.I. motor with built in reversing switch. It runs smooooth!! The consensus between me and Dan Coleman is that the stand is an old typing stand, I'm going to leave it for now since it looks period correct as does the motor which may be an original (since Heston and Anderson came up when I did the posting search) This is fairly light to move around, I like it.

It also came with the box of "goodies". The belt cover is home made out of wood and metal. The whole machine is hand brush painted and I think the original factory tag is m.i.a. or it never had it though there are two holes behind the table where it might have been.

I'll probably restore this when I get an inkling. I may seek out the original cast iron belt guard but I'm pretty happy with the one on it.

I think this was called a double duty shaper, I thought that's what they called them prior to homecraft just like the lathes?

No complaints on this guy whatsoever. Thanks again Dan!
